1987 The Company started operating out of an office in Barking providing groupage services to Cyprus and various other freight forwarding activities
Over the next decade new groupage services were added giving niche coverage of
much of the Mediterranean , African and Middle East regions. Inbound groupage services from Cyprus and Egypt were started.,
1996 The business relocated its head office to its current location in Hornchurch (purchased by the directors)
2000 A sister Company Excel Airfreight Limited was formed to handle all the Companies airfreight requirements
2002 A new office was opened in Manchester, specifically to manage the growing road freight operation for the Company
2003 Another group Company Excel Ocean Services Limited was formed to handle the USA and Canadian trade lanes
2007 The Manchester office was relocated to Heywood,Lancashire (purchased by the directors)
2008 Excel Shipping acquired Essco Export Limited a retail freight forwarder specialising in all aspects of forwarding including cross trade, letters of credit and
